Dersin Amacı
The purpose of this course is to initially explore the formation, functioning, duties, and relations of all main EU institutions with each other; and later to teach the distinct legal order of the EU and the legal principles that enable the functioning of this system; and also to make sure that the EU legal system is discussed and understood with its different aspects, with the input of students coming from different educational backgrounds.

This course firstly explores the main EU institutions vis-a-vis their respective duties and roles within the structuring of the EU, and their relations inter se. In the following weeks the legal system of the EU and its cornerstones will be explored in detail with reference to the relevant case-law of the ECJ.
Planlanan Öğrenme Aktiviteleri ve Metodları
The courses are generally carried out by discussions following the presentations of the students. The process is led by thought-provoking questions. The presentation topics are distributed in accordance with the undergraduate area of each student and the works of students are gathered in a pool that provides the course materials for the students. Often, and whenever is appropriate, a comparative approach is employed as regards international law, national law and EU law. At times induction method is employed to discuss a topic through Court Judgments or Regulations or Directives. Generally the relevant Treaty Provisions constitute the basis of discussions of the subject in question.
